About the Role:

We are seeking a Project Manager (Senior) to become a pivotal member of our new Energy team during a period of significant growth for our company. The Senior Project Manager will be part of a multi-disciplinary team involved in all stages of renewable energy projects and will be instrumental in overseeing the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects in the energy sector across Ireland, the UK, and potentially further afield.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of engineering consulting projects within the energy industry. This includes everything from initial environmental assessment and feasibility studies to design, planning, contract advisory, construction supervision, and commissioning. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in either the consulting or energy sectors and possess strong leadership and project management skills.

Core Role Requirements:

As a Project Manager, being an integral part of a larger team is crucial for success in this position. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing energy-related engineering consulting projects from inception to completion.
  • Facilitating coordination among different engineering, environmental, and construction disciplines for cohesive project design and execution.
  • Managing communications with all project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Developing detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Conducting initial assessments and feasibility studies to determine project viability.
  • Overseeing the evaluation, design, and planning phases, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Managing the construction and commissioning phases, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Monitoring project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Managing the contractual and commercial aspects of the project.
  • Providing leadership, mentorship, and oversight to the project team; fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
  • Preparing and presenting project reports and documentation to clients and senior management.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the team and across project processes.
  • Offering technical guidance to junior engineers and staff, enhancing team competence and project outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in the consulting or energy sectors.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing engineering consulting projects from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of energy industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent certification is preferred.
